Political Crimes deals with the issue of voter apathy.

With the ANC being the ruling party in South Africa by a large majority, many people start thinking that they can never be voted out of power as they control the public and the media. The ANC maintains their votes by targeting the poorest communities with strategic gifting of food, basic infrastructure and clothing – especially around the time of elections. In essence, they are keeping the population just happy enough to maintain control, with no intention of lifting the communities out of poverty or isolation.

Because of this seemingly unbreakable grasp that the ANC has over the political sphere, many people feel helpless in the situation and simply skip voting altogether. This song thus serves to counter that notion, likening voter apathy to the political crimes that the ANC is committing.

Hoaxes... is that even a word? Whatever, that's not even the point!
The point that I'm trying to make is that I don't believe any more
in democracy than I believe in the Moon landings
...or Bigfoot
...or second chances in relationships

Sure, I dont agree with where we are
And where the power lies could be the cause of our demise
Indoctrination, propoganda, lies
Leave the public brainwashed through their suffering
Political crimes

I regret to say
We may not see the change we dearly crave
But sitting on the fence
is far worse of a national offence
